2010, The year of the Lowline
Australian Lowlines to be featured breed at Sydney Royal Show

2010 Lowline World Congress
to be held in conjunction with 2010 Sydney Royal Show

It's time to start planning your entry for the 2010 Sydney Royal Show where Australian Lowlines will be the featured breed. We want this to be the biggest Lowline event ever held and are holding a World Congress in conjunction with it.

This year (2008) Angus was the featured breed at Sydney Royal, and they were IMPRESSIVE beyond belief. I (your editor, Judy) know, because I was there watching and I've never seen anything like it. I doubt if there could be a more impressive cattle lineup in the whole world than in the Sydney Royal Show Grand Parade.

Being featured breed in 2010 is our opportunity to lift the profile of the Australian Lowline to where it should be and we need you to be part of it. Entries are needed from all Australian states and there will be at least one entry from a New Zealand stud.

Expect to meet people interested in Lowlines who have come from the US, New Zealand, Canada and maybe even further afield.

But you need to start planning now. The dates are April 1 to 14, 2010 with Lowline judging day not yet confirmed. We need between 120 and 200 entries

Start planning today.
Present Junior Heifers and Bulls will need to be bred from now until October 2008.
Present calves will be Senior Cows/Bulls by 2010.
It is a good idea for the cows have a good size calf at foot,
so cover them from January – June 2009.
Cows will need to be covered April/May this year
for their calves to be eligible for the Steer competitions.

So start planning now and lets make 2010 the Year of the Australian Lowline.
