A Big Trip To Kumeu

"Australian Lowlines!! They Rock!!!" says Katherine

Thoughts from Katherine Moore, aged nine, of Triple M Stud.

Dad came in at about 6.00 am IN THE MORNING!!!
I woke up and said” do I have to?” Dad said, ” You have to.”
So I got myself together and said, “This is the big day!!” When I came up Mum was having a Milo and Dad was having a coffee.

I sat down and Mum said to me “This is it!” I replied “Yep!”
She asked, “Do you want something to eat?”
Dad said, “She doesn't eat at this time of the morning.”
‘No that's right “ Mum said “But I bet you'll be hungry in two hours.”

When the day became a little lighter, we went out to Rabbit (Triple M Dark Angel) and Lottie (Triple M Silhouette) to load them. We caught Lottie and Mum led her to the trailer. She was a little weary, but when I tapped her a few times she went in. Mum thought Rabbit would be hard to get in the trailer, but she went in easy peasy.

Before I knew it, the trip was on. Six hours later we arrived at Auckland. I was shocked by all the traffic!! It went on and on and on and…I read the instructions from Judy and David to Mum, and we easily found their place. Mum and I met everyone including my new friend Emma.

After unloading we went back to the house and saw Marrakesh having a bath. Emma showed me around and then Tammy (who was going to be the judge)arrived from Australia. I had a swim and then ate tea with Emma. We then took the cattle to the show grounds.

Show day was here and big!! I was photographer for the day and boy
was there heaps to take photos of! I was stared at by a sheep, Saw same interestingly coloured Llamas, some very cute piglets and of course cattle! AND what are my favourites? You guessed it – AUSTRALIAN LOWLINES!! They Rock!!!

It was a very hot busy day for us all but it went really well considering this was our first time showing Rabbit and Lottie and it was their first time too.
Rabbit placed second in her first class.
Lottie didn't win a ribbon but she did behave herself
and she was the youngest one of the Lowlines.
We returned to the Sainsbury’s all in one piece, Rosemary and Donald bought Chinese for tea, then I had another swim.
Next day was the big trip home. It was very hot again, and tiring, and I was pleased when it was over.

I enjoyed my trip. Thank you to David and Judy, Rosemary, Donald, Angie, Emma, and Tammy for their help with everything. I hope we can come back next year.
