Getting a better online presence
By making the most of our electronic opportunities.
If you are one of the people who filled in last year's members' survey, you probably told us that you wanted us to pay more attention to our website. Council has taken that on board and already the 2008 Australian Lowline Cattle Association Journal is available online. Instead of being one ponderous PDF file, we've separated it into individual pages and put links throughout. For example, all ads that mention websites are linked to them (just click the red box around the web address and you'll go there) and clicking on any email address will bring up an email form.
You can access the Journal online from the front page of the ALCA website or from here.
This electronic newsletter is another initiative resulting from that survey. You said you wanted more colourful mailings and this is our first attempt. So please support it by sending ideas and contributions to the Editor. Send us your local show results and we'll put them in. Send reports from field days and stories about your experiences. If you have a question, send it, and we'll get an expert answer for you. Take a camera whenever you go to a Lowline event and send us the pictures with a short report.
Tell us about the good things you're doing. Remember, ideas that work for you will probably work for other people. Pass them on.
The ALCA Council is working on a number of other ideas to give you a more interesting online experience and hopes to have more to show you soon.
